Explore Library Performance Metrics

Click on icons at the top of the page to explore selected library performance metrics such as Number of Libraries, Number of Libraries with Internet Access, Full-Time Staff, Volunteers, Registered Users, Physical Visits, Physical Loans, Electronic Loans. If you are interested in learning more about metric definitions, please see Glossary - Metrics page in the About section.

Explore Country-Level Data by Library Type

To explore country-level data broken down by library type, click on a country and the info panel will display available data in the info panel. You can also use Map Settings to filter map by National, Academic, Public, Community, School, and Other library types. Selected library type will be bolded in the list.

View Per Capita or Total Values

Adjust Map Settings to display per capita or total metric values.

Explore Regional Totals

Click on Worldwide Totals button to see regional summaries. The assignment of countries or areas to specific regions is based on definitions by the United Nations Statistics Division. See Glossary - Geographies page in the About section for more details.
